Abstract
► The phantom sensations were mainly more agonizing than the phantom pain. ► Phantom phenomena were not described as a hindrance. ► The attitudes of hindrance were related to pain-producing situation as whole. ► This individual approach to the phenomena constituted a process of selection and evaluation. ► Hence, understanding of the phantom phenomena should include sociocultural aspects.
