Abstract
Percutaneous procedures for the treatment of pain, such as injection of pharmacological agents, radiofrequency ablations, and implantation of catheters or electrodes, are typically performed under fluoroscopic guidance, taking advantage of reliable osseous landmarks. The use of open MR imaging for guidance of regional pain management procedures has been shown to be feasible but remains limited by the cost of the equipment and infra-structural complexities.
