Abstract
SummaryIn October 2010 the new resuscitation guidelines have been published. Based on the Consensus on Science and Treatment Recommendations by the ILCOR the different resuscitation organizations all over the world have adapted their guidelines. Especially in Europe the recommendation by the American Heart Association and by the European Resuscitation Council are in direct competition because resuscitation training is not only science and teaching but also a business. The purpose of the review is to compare the contents of the two interpretations of the ILCOR recommendations and to give a comment on the potential impact of two co-existing systems on training and patient care.
