Abstract
Subclinical hyperthyroidism during pregnancy has few clinical consequences and no treatment is required. In contrast, subclinical hypothyroidism seems to improve with thyroxine treatment. Iodine supplements during pregnancy and lactation, even in iodine-sufficient areas, are also indicated.
