Abstract
Short Teflon catheters (6 mm) were not associated with a higher risk of ketosis than longer catheters (9 mm). BHB values ⥠0.5 mmol/l in the presence of unexpected hyperglycemia are indicative of ketosis and necessitate an immediate catheter change in type 1 diabetic patients under CSII therapy.
