Abstract
It is known that a reduction in iodine deficiency disorders as a serious public health problem can be achieved with a change in diet in the world population, indicating the need to make iodine intake a reality in Spain. Such an intervention should include 95% of families; moreover, pregnant and breastfeeding women should use iodine supplements.
