Abstract
Currently available data on the effectiveness of prebiotics, short-chain fatty acids, probiotics, fish oils (omega-3-fatty acids), antioxidants, and transforming growth factor (TGF-β) are too limited to allow the use of these substances to be recommended as primary therapy to control inflammation in patients with IBD. Reducing microparticle intake could play a role in controlling active CD.
