Abstract
Less than 50% of the patients consumed iodized salt, revealing that information on the health benefits of iodized salt intake is inadequate. Periodic institutional information campaigns on the importance of iodine deficiency should be implemented to promote widespread iodized salt intake among all sectors of the Spanish population.
