Abstract
⺠No longitudinal studies have investigated the role of lean and fat mass on bone accrual in infants. ⺠Data on 362 infants from 3 longitudinal studies showed positive relationships between lean and fat mass on bone accrual. ⺠Results were similar for males and females, and changes in calcium intake had a positive effect on bone accrual.
