Abstract
ⶠSpinal cord injury induces P2Y2 mRNA expression. ⶠTrauma to the spinal cord upregulates the un-glycosylated form of the P2Y2 receptor. ⶠContusion to the cord downregulates the glycosylated form of the P2Y2 receptor. ⶠP2Y2 receptor is expressed in neurons and glial cells of the injured spinal cord. ⶠThe spatio-temporal pattern of P2Y2 gene expression after injury suggests a role in the pathophysiology response generated after trauma.
