Abstract
The contact problem of a wheel having a small flat, pressed onto an elastically similar half-plane, is considered. The contact law and pressure distribution is found, for all angular positions of the wheel, i.e. for all orientations of the flat under quasi-static conditions, and the evolving distributions tracked out, as the wheel rotates.
