Abstract
In the review the maintenance algorithms during hospitalization at intensive care unit as well as at acute myocardial infarction were presented and discussed. Currently available data suggest that intravenous insulin infusion to achieve normoglycemia and standard monitoring are most effective. After hospital discharge aggressive hypoglycemic treatment is mandatory to improve prognosis wile the drug choice seem to play the secondary role.
