Abstract
⺠Catfish ovarian prostaglandins E2 and F2α show seasonal and periovulatory changes. ⺠2-OH2, E2 and 2-methoxyE2 stimulate PGE2 and PGF2αin vitro. ⺠2-OH2 effect is mediated through both estrogen and adrenergic receptors. ⺠PKC and MAP kinase blockers inhibit the 2-OH2-induced PG stimulation. ⺠cAMP-PKA signaling pathway appears to inhibit the steroid effects.
