Abstract
The presence of amniotic fluid sludge is a marker of poor obstetric prognosis because of its association with preterm delivery, which carries greater perinatal morbidity and mortality. The prevalence of multiple pregnancies has increased in the last few years. These pregnancies are at risk of preterm delivery, which sometimes occurs at very preterm gestational ages. Delivery of the first twin is usually soon followed by that of the second twin and an interval of days or even weeks is unusual. We present the case of a twin pregnancy with delayed interval delivery of the second twin and a finding of amniotic sludge in the ultrasound assessment.
