Abstract
We present a series of 21 cases of vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) treated in our hospital. There were 16 VIN III (76.3%), 4 VIN I (19%) and 1 VIN II (4.7%). The mean age was 44.2 years, but 42.9% of the patients were aged between 30 and 39 years old. The most common symptom was vulvar pruritus (52.4%), and most lesions were located on the labia majora (47.6%). More than a half of the patients (52.4%) also had cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. The most common treatment was wide local excision (76.3%). There was one case of VIN III with occult microinvasion. Recurrence occurred in 28.6%, and all patients were treated with further excision. During follow-up, there were no cases of progression to vulvar carcinoma.
