Abstract
⺠Rox1pfunction in Kluyveromyces lactis and Saccharomyces cervisiae is compared. ⺠KlRox1p and its homolog ScRox1p take part in the response to metals in yeasts. ⺠K. lactis and S. c erevisiae Rox1p regulate YCF1 gen expression in both yeasts. ⺠K. lactis and S. cerevisiae Rox1p bind to the YCF1 promoters. ⺠Regulatory mechanisms in this response differ in both yeasts.
