Calorie restriction increases primordial follicle reserve in mature female chemotherapy-treated rats

Abstract

âº The rats model of POF is successfully established by injected intraperitoneally with CTX. âº Our study indicates that CR can increase the ovarian follicular reserve and reduce the CTX-induced ovarian damage. âº The CR effect in increasing follicular reserve may be due to its intervention in the transition from primordial to primary follicle. âº CR can significantly increase the expression of SIRT1 in rats ovary. âº Our results suggests that the CR protective effects may be induced through SIRT1-p53 pathway.
