Abstract
We found that of 2437 hypertensive patients, 424 (17.4%) developed CRD, and that 61.6% of those who had CRD when they died were older than 54, of which 52.4% were male. Association between AHT and CRD was the MDC in 84.0% and a CDC in 46.2%). A group of hypertensive patients (42.63%) had signs of hypertensive nephroangioesclerosis renal vascular disease. and of these 34.1% developed clinical signs of CRD. We conclude that HBP is an aetiological and determining factor with an impact on the progression of atherosclerotic vascular damage, and that HBP and CRD have a significant association with the MDC and CDC. For this reason, the analysis of results of mortality derived from necropsy protocol studies, may become a significant tool in providing an additional scientific basis to that provided on death certificates when studying deaths caused by high blood pressure.
