Abstract
⺠The amphibians buccal oscillator was compared to the pFRG/RTN of mammalian. ⺠Mammalian pFRG/RTN is a key area for CO2 chemosensitivity. ⺠Experiments were made on isolated brainstem of adult frog. ⺠Inhibition of the buccal oscillator was obtained under low Clâ concentration. ⺠Lung oscillator response to CO2 persists after buccal oscillator inhibition in frog.
