Abstract
We numerically study the dynamical behavior of a steel beam under combined effects of ISO fire and transversal mechanical load based on the equation of vibration with explicit inclusion of temperature dependence. The variation of deflection and bending moment with time as well as the variation of breaking time of the beam with the intensity of the load are presented.
Research highlights► The behavior of a steel beam submitted to fire and transversal loads is studied. ► The deflection increases with time while the bending moment decreases. ► The decreasing behavior of the breaking time as the load increases is obtained.
