Abstract
For patients diagnosed with cardiac tamponade without sinus tachycardia, hypothyroidism should be highly suspected. Although emergent pericardiocentesis should be performed in clinical cardiac tamponade, patients with echocardiographic tamponade signs without a paradoxical pulse should be treated with thyroxine initially.
