Abstract
A 46-year-old woman underwent a Belsey Mark IV antireflux procedure 2 months before admission to the intensive care unit. She had recurrent episodes of major gastrointestinal hemorrhage before the diagnosis of an aortoesophageal fistula was made by computed tomographic scan. AÂ successful urgent endovascular repair was performed in combination with prolonged antibiotic treatment. The patient recovered well after a hospital stay of 3 months, and is still in clinical follow-up at our hospital >2 years after diagnosis.
