Abstract
The antiarrhythmic effect of vernakalant in the goat, at clinically relevant plasma concentrations, is based on both conduction slowing and ERP prolongation due to postrepolarization refractoriness. These electrophysiological effects were not affected by long-term electrical remodeling of the atria.
