Abstract
In this study 474 patients with symptoms of heart failure were followed during 10Â years. High plasma concentration of NT-proBNP could predict almost four times increased risk of cardiovascular mortality up to 10Â years. Also, impaired cardiac function according to echocardiography, and reduced functional capacity as well as diabetes all had influence on risk of cardiovascular mortality up to 10Â years.
