Abstract
This paper reports the fundamental flutter characteristics of two dimensional H-shaped cylinders with 10 different side-ratios, that is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12.5, 15 and 20, and their similarities with 2D rectangular cylinders from the point of flutter derivatives. Furthermore, the change of the role of each flutter derivative on flutter instability with side-ratio is also discussed by use of the “step-by-step flutter analysis”.
