Abstract

A procedure for measurement of the nonlinear B/A parameter using a simple comparative method is presented. A theoretical model of the measurement system is proposed. The sensitivity function of the measurement system is carried out and related to the electric and acoustic magnitudes. The optimal conditions were carried out with the aim to avoid sophisticated calculations of the transducers sensitivities. It has been shown that the sensitivity function can be kept close to the unit by a specific choice of the fundamental frequency. Indeed if the frequency of the source transducer is chosen lower than the resonance frequency we can avoid determining the sensitivities. Measurements have been carried out to validate the procedure in the frame of the theoretical aspects.
