Spongy left ventricular myocardium otherwise called as non-compaction of left ventricular myocardium, is one of the rarest form of cardiomyopathies which may occur both in children & adults. Underlying basic Etiology is at the level of failure of myocardial development during the process of embryogenesis. This condition is associated with life threatening arrhythmias and thromboembolic events. Diagnosis can be done, mainly by 2D-Echo color Doppler study or by magnetic resonance imaging. In this article, we report a young gentleman, who was diagnosed to have WPW syndrome and admitted for electrophysiological study/radiofrequency ablation and incidentally found to have spongy myocardium of left ventricle.
