Abstract
The local delivery of paclitaxel onto a vascular graft is effective in suppressing neointimal hyperplasia. However, a more than adequate amount of drug coating might cause unwanted effects, such as hematoma, seroma, wound infection, or incomplete incorporation of the graft into the surrounding tissue. In this study, to identify the optimum drug coating, the effectiveness was compared between paclitaxel terminally coated expanded polytetrafluoroethylene grafts, paclitaxel whole-coated grafts, and uncoated control grafts.
