Intraoperative spinal cord monitoring using combined motor and sensory evoked potentials recorded from the spinal cord during surgery for intramedullary spinal cord tumor

•We used spinal cord evoked potentials (SCEP) during intramedullary cord tumor surgery.•The sensory tract was monitored using SCEP after electrical spinal cord stimulation.•The motor tract was monitored using SCEP after transcranial electrical stimulation.•We found substantial differences in SCEP responses between cases.•Multimodal SCEP is a useful means of monitoring spinal cord function during surgery.
