Abstract
In this paper an active vibration control technique to reduce the seismic response of a soil-retaining structure interaction (SRSI) system is presented. The proposed control technique is a synthesis of the adaptive input estimation method (AIEM) and the linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) controller. The AIEM can estimate online the unknown input. The LQG controller offers optimal control forces to suppress the SRSI system vibration. The control performance of the proposed control technique is numerically evaluated. The obtained results show that the proposed method is more robust than the conventional LQG method.
