Abstract
► We evaluated 61 patients with pharmacoresistant temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). ► The ability to recognize familiar faces was similar between patients and controls. ► Hyperfamiliarity for unfamiliar faces was observed in 23% of patients. ► Patients with right-sided TLE showed more frequent and more severe impairments. ► Hyperfamiliarity was not associated with any other clinical characteristics.
