Abstract
⺠We evaluated 61 patients with pharmacoresistant temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). ⺠The ability to recognize familiar faces was similar between patients and controls. ⺠Hyperfamiliarity for unfamiliar faces was observed in 23% of patients. ⺠Patients with right-sided TLE showed more frequent and more severe impairments. ⺠Hyperfamiliarity was not associated with any other clinical characteristics.
