Abstract
Since the publication of the first articles more than 10Â years ago, the number of publications using Drosophila as a model to study sleep/wake has exploded, covering the physiological, molecular and cellular regulation of sleep, as well as the links between sleep and circadian rhythms, behavioral performance, memory, metabolism and immunity to name just a few of the fields of research. It is an opportunity to review the features and advantages of this model, as well as its contributions to the field of sleep/wake research.
