Abstract
The link between dural arteriovenous fistula and venous thrombosis is still unclear. The initial event of this combination is not yet defined. Venous thrombosis could first create venous hypertension and neovascularization, responsible for arteriovenous shunts in the dura mater. Eventually, a dural fistula could appear. Alternatively, venous hypertension and stasis, caused by the fistula, could lead to a venous thrombosis.
