Abstract
Peripheral neuropathies are one of the most common reasons for consulting a neurologist. Adequate evaluation of these neuropathies may be complicated and time consuming because there are hundreds of acquired and inherited etiologies. A specialized laboratory testing, and sometimes genetic or nerve biopsies analysis, are required to properly investigate these neuropathies. The diagnostic approach depends on the clinical features and on the results of nerve conduction studies. We present in this paper different sets of investigative procedures according to the most common electro-clinic patterns of neuropathies.
