Abstract
A HIV-positive 45-year-old man, without evidence of immunodepression, was referred in emergency for a transient focal and alternating neurological deficit associated with headache. After a normal brain MRI, a HaNDL syndrome was supposed and confirmed by a lumbar puncture disclosing lymphocytic meningitis with hypoglycorachia. EBV and HHV-8 replication were detected in the cerebrospinal fluid. The cytology led to the diagnosis of primary effusion lymphoma revealed by an exclusive meningeal location.
