Abstract

The plane state of stress in a plastically anisotropic, thin rotating disk of constant thickness and density is studied, and effect of material anisotropy on the stress–strain distribution is analyzed. The original semi-analytical method is developed for determination of displacement field and strain distribution. The material of the disk is assumed to be plastically anisotropic obeying the Hill's quadratic yield criterion but isotropic towards the elastic properties. A good agreement between the theoretically predicted response of the materials and real ones is observed.
