Abstract
In this work the dynamic stability analysis of composite columns of closed cross-section is performed. The columns are subject to pulse loading of finite duration. The influence of imperfection sensitivity, orthotropy level and lamination angle on the dynamic buckling load are investigated. The effect of material properties in elastic–plastic range is also studied. The numerical results obtained from FEM solution are presented in diagrams. The consequences of application of different dynamic stability criteria are discussed as well.
