ResumenEl tratamiento de la patología reumática según los criterios diagnósticos avanzados (CDA) nos permite optimizar la acupuntura como procedimiento médico. El enfoque de las enfermedades reumáticas mediante los CDA específicos hace hincapié en las manifestaciones concretas osteomusculares, principal motivo de consulta de estos pacientes. Además de interpretar y actualizar los principios terapéuticos de la Medicina Tradicional China, avanzamos integrando los novedosos conceptos de la Acupuntura Médica Occidental. El buen acupuntor debe tratar siempre el dolor y la impotencia funcional predominante con el fin de mejorar la calidad de vida de sus pacientes.
The treatment of rheumatic disease according to advanced diagnostic criteria allows acupuncture as a medical procedure to be optimized. The focus of this treatment stresses the specific osteomuscular manifestations, which are the main reason for consultation in affected patients. Traditional Chinese Medicine is evolving through the interpretation and updating of its therapeutic principles and through the integration of the novel concepts of Western Medical Acupuncture. A good acupuncturist should always treat pain and the predominant functional impairment with the aim of improving the patient's quality of life.
