Abstract

What is known as Hering's law is one of the most important guidelines in the follow-up and prognosis of patients treated with homeopathy and the principles of this law are supposed to serve as a guide to the appropriateness of the course of action taken. However, this law is not, strictly speaking, a law, given that its author probably never intended it to be taken as such but, at the most, probably intended it to serve as a type of practical observation. Consequently Hering's principles are often not observed in practice or are contradictory.Likewise, an example of the lack of methodological rigor in homeopathy is how apparently simple and basic concepts are maintained or distorted without first passing through any type of filter.
