Abstract
The toxin from the Rhopalurus junceus scorpion has been the object of multiple studies. The main objective of this research was to ascertain if the accidental sting of the blue scorpion, R. junceus, could be associated with a predisposition not to suffer from cancer. We selected 37 people who had developed clear, abundant and well-defined local, general and mental symptoms following accidental scorpion sting and recorded their personal and family history. The main finding was low incidence of malignant tumours in male and female relatives. Only a single individual had presented a colon tumour, with a survival of 30 years. The people interviewed showed varied, abundant symptomatology triggered by the R. junceus toxin.
