Abstract
For the overconsolidated clay and the structured clays behaving similarly in strain hardening/softening and positive/negative dilatancy, the three-dimensional unified hardening model (UH model) for the overconsolidated clay is extended to a structured UH model. In the structured UH model, a moving normal compression line paralleling to and being located above the normal compression line is introduced in detail. By comparing the model predictions with the test data, the structured UH model is qualified in continuously, smoothly and reasonably simulating the behaviors of the structured clay.
