Abstract
While no teaching is devoted to homeopathy during initial medical training, homeopathic remedies are extensively used. A descriptive study of the practices, knowledge, opinions and training of general practitioners and interns in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region has been carried out. It shows that 75Â % of doctors prescribe homeopathic remedies at least once a month while 28Â % acknowledge having had minimal training and only 30Â % claim to have good knowledge of homeopathy. Perceived as a possible alternative or complementary therapy, homeopathy is described as “useful” by 52Â % of the doctors and 62Â % of the interns questioned. Greater knowledge would enable practitioners to better orient patients in the framework of integrative medicine.
