Advances of the study on acupoint catgut-embedding for epilepsy in recent 10 years

The research literature about acupoint catgut-embedding therapy for epilepsy published in recent 10 years at home are collected, and analyzed and valuated from clinical reports, catgut-embedded acupoints, materials, methods and mechanisms. The results indicate that at present the study on acupoint catgut-embedding for epilepsy achieves satisfactory results, with slightly lagging behind the study on the relative theory of Chinese medicine, lacking standardization study. In future, the researches on acupoint catgut-embedding therapy for epilepsy should be strengthened as mining of the relative theory of Chinese medicine and combined with modern medicine researches and advanced techniques.
