Abstract
Bone augmentation techniques should be determined by the ideal implant position for prosthetic support. Research and clinical experience have shown that alloplastic materials, such as resorbable hydroxyapatite, and allografts, such as demineralised freeze-dried bone, yield poor results. Using autogenous bone decreases the overhead costs of grafting supplies. This report describes the use of the anterior palate as an applicable donor site for the reconstruction of anterior maxillary bone defects.
