Abstract
This report assessed the interface of a titanium implant retrieved from a vascularised scapular bone graft after a 6-year loading period. Lamellar mature bone surrounded most of the implant threads, except for the cervical region, and entered into the transversal hole in the apex. The amounts of bone-implant contact and the bone area within the threads were 79.3% and 82.6%, respectively. The resultant observation indicated that there was sufficient osseointegration of the implant in the vascularised scapular bone graft.
