The preliminary data indicate a differential expression of proteins that may play important roles in the prevention of cellular damage by stress, in mediating the immune response as well as in tissue regeneration. The proteomic profile study of pocket tissue may be crucial to appreciate both the pathogenesis and the therapy of periodontitis.
