Abstract
Implant periapical lesion is considered a preventable disease, where a combination of careful evaluation of planned implant site for potential contaminants, careful surgical techniques, and meticulous sterilization procedures may limit its incidence. Moreover, in order to obtain a long-term success, the dental practitioner should not only carefully evaluate the surgical area, but also examine the adjacent teeth and/or alveolar bone clinically and radiographically before positioning dental implant so as to avoid a possible medicolegal litigation.
