Abstract
In posterior atrophic jaws it's possible to increase bone vertically with success, but complications can often occur. Furthermore it's not clear yet which is the best surgical technique for maxillary sinus lift among those proposed in the literature. When the residual bone crest height is between 4-6 mm, short implants seem to be a good treatment choice because they reduce time and treatment costs and complications. Concerning graft materials that can be used in the sinus lift, we analyzed that they don't have the capacity to influence the final clinical result.
