Abstract
This case report appears as a completely reversible adverse cardiovascular episode, type takotsubo, a heart disease generally with favorable prognosis, which usually appears in the context of intense phy-sical and psychological stress and is caused by an excessive amount of endogenous catecholamines. The condition of intense odontogenic pain that preceded and accompanied the extraction itself and bleeding percei-ved by the patient as copious are believed to be the trigger, since the dose of adrenaline administered with the anesthetic to be considered not signi-ficantcomparedto the endogenous production of catecholamines relatedto stress. As takotsubo cardiomyopathy can result in a major acute heart failure, then the dentist should be aware of the peculiarities of this clinical picture, in order to address the management of patient in correct way, by implementing an effective pain control and providing preventive procedures, which may be a peaceful setting and sessions of short duration, to reduce patient stress.
