Abstract
The present study reports a case of coronoradicular fracture with biological width invasion that was successfully managed by odontoplasty associated with clinical crown lengthening surgery (CCLS). Clinically, the patient presented subgingival fracture with a tooth fragment 6.0 mm below the cemento-enamel junction. The initial examination suggested a poor prognosis for the case, but in exploratory surgery we decided to keep the tooth by performing an odontoplasty on buccal and distal faces. After one year, a satisfactory prosthetic rehabilitation associated with a healthy periodontium was observed. Within the limits of the present case report, it can be concluded that odontoplasty performed during clinical crown lengthening may be useful for managing extensive subgingival fractures.
